Applying for your Provisional Driving Licence
You can apply for your first British provisional driving licence online if you:
-are a resident of Great Britain
-can meet the minimum age requirement (17)
-can meet the minimum eyesight requirement:
(only tested before the start of your driving test by reading a number plate from a distance of 20,5 meters)
-are currently not prevented from driving for any reason
-can pay £50 by Mastercard, Visa, Maestro,Electron, Delta or Solo debit or credit card.
-have a valid UK passport or another form of identity
-can provide addresses of where you have lived over the last three years
The photo for your licence
As DVLA no longer issue paper licences we will need a photo and signature for your licence.
If you have a UK digital passport DVLA will try to electronically capture these from the Identity and Passport Service.
If this isn′t possible or you don′t want us to use the photo on your digital passport you will need to send a photo by post.
